In 1938 Mr Marcel TOURNILLON, founder of the Rucher de Provence, set up his first Nougaterie
In 1945 fifty people worked there, and at that busy time the Rucher de Provence became one of the most important Nougateries in Montélimar. In 1974, Mr Marcel Tournillon retired from the Business.
His Nougat patent « Au Rucher de Provence » was handed over to my father, Mr Fernand BONNIEU. In 1988 my wife and I, Pierre BONNIEU, opened a new Nougaterie in the center of Montélimar, Allées Provençales. Nowadays our yearly production amounts to 30 tons of Nougat and 5 tons of chocolate. I work with 7 employees, using traditional recipes.
In 2004 we moved into our new 6500 sqft Nougaterie, which complies with the current hygiene regulations. Our production has been increasing 7% yearly.
Our business is traditional; to this day we still use two original copper cauldrons to make our Nougat
My father is the owner of the registered trademark “Stoupany”, founded in 1787. We produce all the Nougat sold under this brandname.
Thank you for your custom. Our work is a real passion.
